Max Van Hosen is a 21 year old writer, illustrator, designer, and filmmaker from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is now a senior at New York University studying Dramatic Writing at Tisch School of the Arts with a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology at the Stern School of Business. He graduates in May of 2025.
From June to December 2024 Max interned full time for Marvel Studio's Franchise Planning and Operations team where he made weekly presentations, designed executive business cards, organized studio screenings, and wrote copy for internal communications all while taking NYU classes at night.
In July of 2024 he cofounded the multimedia storytelling publication The Bum Diary where he writes stories, takes photos, designs graphics, and runs the newsletter with his friends who he met during his Spring 2024 semester participating in NYU Los Angeles' study away program.
During his 6 months in Los Angeles, he interned on FX Network's (Atlanta, the Bear, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, AHS) Print Design team––the group behind the network's award winning key art and print marketing campaigns––while also taking night classes.  He also built a speaker that semester with his roommate Ben for the NYU Office of Global Program's Global Green Fellowship project so the two could promote sustainability and blast tunes.
Previously, Max was the Art Director of his college newspaper the Washington Square News where he drew and directed weekly digital illustrations. His personal illustration artwork and biographical interview was featured in the Student Work Spotlight section of Meet NYU magazine's Fall 2023 edition, a print publication sent out to prospective students to get them excited about coming to NYU.
Max is originally from Agoura Hills, California but since 2011 has grown up in Fayetteville, Arkansas (and some of Omaha, Nebraska). In high school, he was his school's sports announcer, event DJ, made comics for the newspaper, illustrated for the literary magazine, edited the yearbook, and participated in Model UN and Model Arab League.
He loves music, drawing, nature, cars, soccer, biking, skateboarding, joke writing, film photography, film & TV, making home videos, re-watching The Simpsons, and mentally convincing himself he could be a drummer for a post punk band. This is his official website where he showcases (most of) his creative works. Come check it out if you have a minute or two.
